Wild Wild Riches Review: Money Collect and the 500x Mega Jackpot

Wild Wild Riches is the original 2020 Pragmatic Play Irish-themed slot, played across five reels with 576 ways to win. Its defining mechanic is a reel-specific Money Collect system: Wild symbols appear on the first two reels, while Money symbols occupy reels three through five. When the required symbols connect, the displayed Money values are collected rather than behaving like ordinary paying symbols.

This original game should not be confused with Wild Wild Riches Megaways or the later Wild Wild Riches Returns. Those versions introduce different layouts, prize ceilings and bonus structures.

Why Reel Position Matters

Pragmatic Play states that Wilds on reels one and two are central to activating the Money Collect mechanic. Money symbols can then appear across reels three to five with values from 1x to 25x the bet.

Reel five has an additional role. Money symbols there can display fixed jackpot values of 50x, 100x or 500x, while separate 2x, 3x or 5x multipliers can also appear. This means three different values should not be treated as interchangeable:

Money value → 1x–25x

Fixed jackpot → 50x / 100x / 500x

Reel-five multiplier → 2x / 3x / 5x

The multiplier modifies the qualifying collected result; it is not another jackpot tier.

How Free Spins Use the Same Structure

Free Spins are not triggered by landing three generic Scatters anywhere on the grid.

The original game's trigger requires Wild symbols on reels one and two together with the Bonus symbol on reel three. This awards 10 Free Spins. During the feature, Wild and Money symbols appear more frequently while Money Collect remains active.

Landing the same Wild-Wild-Bonus arrangement again awards another 10 Free Spins, and Pragmatic Play describes the bonus as endlessly retriggerable.

That creates a consistent design across both game states: reel position controls access to the important features rather than a conventional three-Scatter system.

RTP Depends on the Active Configuration

A recent capture of the original game's information screen documents a maximum RTP of 96.77% and a minimum configuration of 96.00%, with high volatility. Because operator configurations can differ, the RTP displayed inside the version currently running through 789Bingo should be treated as authoritative for that deployment.

The fixed 500x Mega jackpot should also not automatically be described as the game's overall maximum win. A jackpot tier and the maximum theoretical payout of the complete game are different statistics.
